The Timmins Police Service is investigating an incident that occurred on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. where the victim, just prior to entering a local grocery store, was approached from behind and punched in the face by a stranger.  

The female victim was walking by the grocery store going towards the main entrance at which time the unknown suspect came up from behind her and pulled on her backpack causing her to spin around.  

The suspect then punched the victim in the face causing her to cut her bottom lip and to have a nose bleed.  

The victim indicates that she does not know the suspect.  

The suspect is an Indigenous female person who is approximately 30-40 years old, 5’6” tall, with dark hair, wearing a camo coat and, had tattoos on both of her hands and wrist area.
