Police locate stolen property during search warrant

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from the execution of a search warrant at a Harmony Street residence on Tuesday, April 12.

The investigation centred on a recent theft that had occurred at a Riverside Drive business in late March where approximately $30,000 worth of building materials and tools had been stolen.

A search warrant was executed by the Timmins Police yesterday and yielded the discovery and recovery of a significant amount of the stolen property.

Police recovered stolen kitchen cabinetry and several tools with a value that is not yet determined.

As a result, Eric Cote, 33, of Timmins has been charged with 

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime — Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Cote was released from police custody on the strength of an Undertaking compelling him to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on May 17 to answer to the charges laid against him.
