COCHRANE - Members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the sudden death of a 22-year-old person in the Town of Cochrane.
On March 1, 2021, 22-year-old Brooke Chapleau was transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) after reportedly being injured at a home she was visiting.
On March 7, 2021, Brooke Chapleau died as a result of the injuries sustained in the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated under the authority of the Coroner's Act by members of the James Bay Detachments Crime Unit with the assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
