On Tuesday, April 27, 2021 sometime just prior to 18:25 hours, a suspicious vehicle with occupants yelling sexual comments out to children was circulating in the area of Park Avenue in Mountjoy Township.
A child advised that he had been biking with his friends on Park Road when a vehicle drove by them and occupants inside yelled out sexually suggestive remarks to them.
There were three male passengers in the back seat along with the driver.
The child in question did the right thing by proceeding directly home and notifying an adult.
The police were notified and now the Timmins Police Service is seeking to locate the vehicle and identify the suspects.
All suspects are males and Caucasian; one having long blonde hair, and another with short black/grey hair. All suspects are in their late teens.
The parents were assured that extra attention to any suspicious vehicles in the area would be undertaken by the Timmins Police Service.
A separate adult witness indicated that it was a female voice yelling out unknown comments from the vehicle.
The description provided by this witness indicate that the vehicle was a dark-coloured SUV, which is consistent with the videos and photos now in possession of the investigating officer.
No children were harmed in this occurrence but it does merit police attention and public awareness.
All parties were advised to call the police if they were to see that vehicle once again or any further occurrences of a similar nature.
Parents and guardians were advised that police presence will be increased in the area to enhance safety.
