GAUTHIER TWP – On Aug. 16, 2020 at approximately 4:51 p.m., members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a domestic dispute on George Street in Gauthier Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 44 year-old from Gauthier Twp, has been charged with the following:
- Operation While Impaired - Alcohol, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC,
The driver was issued a 90 day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS).
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 8, 2020, in Kirkland Lake.
The OPP will not be releasing the name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
