One person charged with stealing $2K worth of goods from Kirkland Lake business

KIRKLAND LAKE – On May 5, 2020, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft from a business on Government Road West in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

As a result of the investigation one person has been charged and police were able to recover over $2000 worth of stolen items.

Matthew Marcotte, age 25, of Kirkland Lake, was charged with Theft Under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, on July 9, 2020.
