Man arrested on warrant after police respond to trespassing call

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant which was executed at a Spruce Street South apartment complex early this morning.

While responding to a call for service regarding an apparent trespasser, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized the man as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Barry Godin, 46, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to charges that led to the Arrest Warrant being issued.
