More than $50K in drugs seized in Temiskaming Shores

Two from Cobalt charged after officers seize suspected fentanyl, crystal meth, and more during traffic stop

TEMISKAMING SHORES - On Dec. 4, 2020, members of the North East Region (NER) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

Officers conducted a search of the vehicle, where they located and seized drug paraphernalia and a substantial quantity of suspected fentanyl, crystal meth, speed, psilocybin, percocet and hydromorph contin with a street value of approximately $57,743.

As a result of the investigation, the driver and passenger of the vehicle have been arrested.

Both residents of the Town of Cobalt, Madonna Sullivan, 45 years old; and Jeffrey Horlock, 44 years old have been charged with:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) (two counts),
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA (three counts), and
    •    Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.

Both accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
