Two Kapuskasing men are facing charges after police spotted a suspicious vehicle in a Timmins parking lot.

On the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 20, Timmins Police officers doing crime abatement patrols saw a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a commercial business that wasn't open yet.

Police determined that the vehicle had allegedly been stolen from Kapuskasing and both of the occupants were arrested. During the investigation, police also found controlled substances.

A 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old man from Kapuskasing have both been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with a probation order.

The 28-year-old was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and two additional counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Both of the accused were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
