One person was arrested after an incident early this morning downtown Timmins.
Few details have been released, but Timmins Police are clearing up some of what happened today (May 30) in the area of Cedar Street South and Second Avenue. Police say they responded to an incident where there was an allegation of a weapon being involved.
"Acting with public safety in mind, the Timmins Police cordoned off a section of that area as a search for evidence was conducted," said police in a statement.
The scene has been released and there is no threat to public safety, said police.
A man was arrested in relation to the event. His name and the charges won't be released until the charges are sworn to in front of a Justice of the Peace.
