Man faces assault, uttering threat charges

While police were investigating an Oct. 2 incident, they discovered a previous criminal act

The Timmins Police Service has investigated a set of recent criminal incidents that has led to the arrest early this morning of a Timmins man.

The Timmins Police Service investigated an occurrence where an argument took place between an occupant and a guest at a Mountjoy Street North address during the evening hours of Sunday, Oct. 2, which escalated to the point where a threat was uttered by a male subject.

The investigation led to the discovery of a previous criminal act where the occupant had been assaulted by the same male subject during an earlier altercation that occurred on Sept. 27.

The suspect was located and arrested by the Timmins Police Service early this morning at the Mountjoy Street North address.

As a result, Victor Wesley, 33, of Timmins has been charged with: 

  • Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Utter Threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
