Man accused of threatening neighbour with a weapon

The Timmins Police Service has investigated a mid-morning disturbance that occurred on Friday, Jan. 29 at a Fifth Avenue apartment building resulting in the arrest of a 32-year-old male person.

The Timmins Police Service responded to the occurrence where two tenants entered into a verbal dispute that escalated to the point where the one tenant used a weapon to intimidate the other.

The assaultive altercation caused the 37-year-old male victim to retreat into his own apartment and await the arrival of the Timmins Police.

The responding Timmins Police officers were able to identify, locate, and arrest the male suspect at the scene of the disturbance.

As a result, Shane Reuben, 32, of Timmins has been charged with: 

  • Assault with a weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
