Police investigating bomb threat at 101 Mall (updated)

The mall was evacuated and searched this morning

Update at 1:40 p.m.

No incendiary devices were located at the 101 Mall after it was evacuated and searched due to a bomb threat, says Timmins Police.

The threat was received this morning and the mall was safely reopened around noon. 

Some retail shops and a bank are in the mall, along with service providers. The courthouse is also located on the upper level.

The incident is being investigated by the criminal investigation division. 

Anyone with relevant information is asked to call police at 705-264-1201.

There's a large police presence at the 101 Mall. 

Timmins Police have been on the scene since this morning. Police have not confirmed the reason for their presence. 

A number of cruisers and police vehicles are still outside the downtown building.

Some retail shops and a bank are in the mall, along with service providers. The courthouse is also located on the upper level.
