Kirkland Lake resident charged with drug possession

KIRKLAND LAKE - One person has been charged in the ongoing weapons investigation that the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to on June 1, 2022.

OPP Kirkland Lake detachment members had responded to a weapons complaint on Lebel Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake, where one person had sustained a severe non-life-threatening injury.

A search warrant was executed at the scene, and police recovered drugs suspected to be cocaine, methamphetamine and methylenedioxyamphetamine (ecstasy). A firearm was also seized during the investigation.

As a result, Grant Trajkowicz, 38, of Kirkland Lake, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and methylenedioxyamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the controlled drugs and substances act (CDSA)

The investigation is continuing. Police are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
