Kirkland Lake resident charged in theft investigation

McGARRY TOWNSHIP – On July 28, 2020, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft at a residence on Government Road in McGarry Township.

As a result of the investigation one person has been arrested.

Chantal Bujold, age 42 of Kirkland Lake, was charged with the following:  

  • Theft under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),  
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - Cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and  
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC (16 counts).

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, on Sept. 3, 2020.
