Kirkland Lake man faces drug possession charge

Police say the 34-year-old was wanted on a warrant

On Feb. 17, 2021, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police observed a person known to have a warrant for their arrest on Kirkland Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

The accused was arrested and further investigation revealed that they were in possession of drugs suspected to be methamphetamine.

As a result, Roger Blais-Gallan, 34 years of age, of Kirkland Lake, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
  • Fail to comply with summons, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Fail to attend for court - as per undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(b) of the CC.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before The Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, on March 4, 2021.
