KIRKLAND LAKE - On July 27, 2020, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on Woods Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
As a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old person from Kirkland Lake was charged with the following:
• Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC),
• Mischief, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the CC, and
• Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC.
The OPP will not release a name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Sept. 24, 2020.
