KIRKLAND LAKE - On Oct. 25, 2021, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter at a residence on Tweedsmuir Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
As part of the investigation a search warrant was executed at a residence on Second Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
As a result, Ashley Lafrance, 28 years of age of Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with the following:
• break, enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 25, 2021 in Kirkland Lake.
