Kapuskasing resident facing 47 charges in domestic investigation

A warrant was executed in Kapuskasing, and one person was arrested on 47 domestic related criminal charges.

On Feb. 17, 2024, shortly after 3 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a warrant at a residence on Riverside Drive in Kapuskasing.

As a result of the investigation, a 63-year-old person from Kapuskasing was charged with the following:

  • Harassing communication - 17 counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order - 30 counts

The offences being investigated occurred between October 2023 and February 2024.

The accused was released from bail court and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 18, 2024, in Kapuskasing. Due to the domestic nature of the incident, the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
