Iroquois Falls resident charged with stunt driving

Police say the vehicle was going over 110 km/h in a posted 60km/h zone

LATCHFORD - On Nov. 21, 2020, shortly before 10 a.m., a member from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting stationary radar patrol on Main Street, in the Town of Latchford.

A vehicle approached the officer's location, travelling in excess of 110 km/h in a posted 60km/h zone. 

The 29-year-old driver from Iroquois Falls, is charged with Stunt Driving - Excess Speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The vehicle was impounded and the drivers licence has been suspended for seven days. The driver was released by way of a Court Summons and is scheduled to appear at court on Feb. 25, 2021, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.

Aggressive driving, including speeding, is one of the leading causal factors in traffic deaths in OPP patrolled areas. Please slow down and abide by posted speed limits!
