Iroquois Falls man riding child-size ATV charged with impaired operation: OPP

Police were conducting stationary patrol after 2 a.m. when they initiated the stop

On April 2, 2020, at approximately 2:19 a.m., members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting stationary patrol. A traffic stop was initiated on a child-size All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Synagogue Avenue in Iroquois Falls.

As a result of the investigation, Colin Popowski, age 35, from Iroquois Falls has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) and,
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS).

The accused was released an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 9, 2020, in Timmins.
