Investigation into Timmins shooting leads to seizure of $42K in drugs, handgun

Timmins Police seized over $42,000 in drugs, a gun, ammunition and more.

Police seized drugs, a handgun and more executing a search warrant in Timmins. 

Yesterday (April 4), Timmins Police searched a Way Avenue home. It was in relation to an incident on March 18 when police started an investigation into a gun being fired at a local residence. 

During the search, police seized 79.6 grams of fentanyl, 73.8 grams of cocaine, 76.5 grams of methamphetamine tablets, 4.5 grams of crystal methamphetamines, 228 of magic mushrooms, and 18 pregabalin capsules. The estimated street value of the drugs is $42,103. 

A 9 mm handgun, ammunition and under $5,000 in Canadian cash was also seized.

Adam Longpre, 41, of Timmins is charged with numerous firearm and drug-related offences, as well as failing to comply with a release order. He was held in police custody for a bail hearing today.

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
