Heavy police presence in Sixth Avenue area after report of gunshots

There's been another shooting incident in the Sixth Avenue area. 

Timmins Police says to expect a heavy police presence in the Sixth Avenue area after receiving a report of gunshots today (March 20). 

One victim was brought to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The criminal investigations division is investigating.

The Sixth Avenue area has been active for police investigations in the last six months. 

In January, police issued an advisory about a heavy police presence in that area of town. In that incident, a man was arrested at the scene and a firearm was seized, though no further details were released.

In September 2023, two people were injured in a shooting and a man was charged with attempted murder.
