Hearst resident faces weapons, drug charges

Police responded to reports of people being threatened by someone brandishing a weapon

HEARST - On June 1, 2022, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident involving a weapon on Prince and Seventh Street in the Town of Hearst.

The investigation revealed that numerous persons were threatened by an individual brandishing a weapon. No one was injured in this incident.

As a result of the investigation, Stephane Aubin, 48 years of age of Hearst, was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code (CC) (two counts)
    •    Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC
    •    Carrying concealed weapon, contrary to section 90 of the CC
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methylenedioxyamphetamine (Ecstasy), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
    •    Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC, (10 counts)

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 2, 2022 in Hearst.
