Four Timmins youth face break and enter charges

The Timmins Police Service has charged four local young persons with break-in related offences stemming from an incident which occurred early this morning at a sports facility complex on Theriault Boulevard.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a call for service earlier that morning where [it is alleged that] a group of young persons had forcibly gained entry into the sports facility and made off with various items.

The Timmins Police reviewed video surveillance of the event and were able to identify the suspects.

Two young male persons along with two young female persons were located in the vicinity of the break-in and arrested and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service this morning.

As a result of the incident, a 17-year-old male person, a 15-year-old female person, a 14-year-old female person and a 13-year-old male person, each of Timmins, have been charged respectively with:
    •    Break and enter with intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
    •    Mischief under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
    •    Theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused persons have been released from police custody on the strength of respective undertakings requiring that they attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Aug. 31 to answer to the charges laid against them.
