Firearms among items stolen from seasonal residences

The thefts happened between October 8 and December 27

Crime unit members of the Kirkland Lake and South Porcupine Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a string of break and enters to seasonal residences on Watabeag Lake.

The break-ins are believed to have taken place between Oct. 8 and Dec. 27, 2020.

Firearms and various household items have been reported stolen. The firearms are described as:

  • Two single shot 22's, both with a tan-coloured wooden stock.
  • Two semi-automatic 22's. One with a dark brown or black stock with black telescopic mounted sights, the other with a wooden, light tan-coloured stock and a telescope sight.
  • Two 410's, one bolt action with a three shot magazine and the other a hinge action, single shot.
  • Two 12 gauge shot guns, one single shot and one inoperable.

The household items include solar panel systems with batteries, power tools, fishing gear, household appliances, and electronics.
