The Timmins Police Service has charged a person with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred on Friday, April 24 at a Cedar Street North building in Timmins.
A Timmins Police Service officer responded to the call for service on Friday regarding a suspicious person who had [allegedly] attended at the building, forced open a personal locker, and made off with some of the contents.
Based on the investigation, the responding officer confronted the female suspect and took her into custody.
A quantity of fentanyl was found among the arrested person’s personal effects at the Timmins Police station.
As a result of the incident, Angel Wabano, 25 of Timmins, has been charged with:
• Theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
• Possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
Wabano remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against her.
