Fauquier-Strickland resident killed in Highway 11 crash

A Fauquier-Strickland resident was killed in a weekend crash on Highway 11. 

The collision between two pickup trucks happened on Sunday, Feb. 6 around 2:30 p.m. west of Smooth Rock Falls. 

The 73-year-old driver of one of the trucks, Omer Ethier, was killed in the crash, said OPP in a news release. The driver of the other truck sustained minor injuries.

The highway was closed for about nine hours for the police investigation, which is ongoing and includes the North East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and the OPP Technical Collision Investigators.
