Eight guns stolen in Watabeag-area break-ins: police

Police are asking for help to solve a rash of break-ins.

Sometime between Oct. 12 and Dec. 28, several cottages in the Watabeag Lake area southeast of Matheson were broken into, according to OPP.

The stolen items include:

  • Solar power systems 
  • Briggs 6,500-watt generator 
  • Honda outboard motor 
  • Honda trimmer and lawnmower
  • Two single-shot .22 calibre rifles 
  • Two semi-automatic .22 calibre rifles 
  • One bolt-action .410 shotgun
  • One hinge-action, single-shot .410 shotgun
  • Two hinge-action, single-shot 12-gauge shotgun
