Early morning traffic stop leads to charges

Police say the passenger was breaching release orders

The Timmins Police Service arrested a Timmins resident stemming from an incident where the suspect was found to be in breach of court-imposed conditions listed in a Release Order.

The Timmins Police Service completed a traffic stop at the intersection of Algonquin Blvd and Mountjoy Street South early this morning.

Based on investigation, the passenger in the vehicle was determined to be bound by current court-imposed curfew restrictions.

This person was in clear breach of the court-imposed curfew and was taken into custody.

As a result, Normand Gamache, 59, of Timmins was taken into police custody and is charged with: 

  • Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the criminal charge laid against him.
