Drugs, ammunition, stolen snowmobiles seized by OPP

Three people face charges

KIRKLAND LAKE - On April 14, 2020, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Kirkland Lake OPP Crime Unit and the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), responded to a report of a break, enter and theft in the Township of Pacaud, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, three people have been charged and police recovered two snow machines and other stolen property. Police also seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine and cocaine as well as ammunition. Total value of the seizure and recovered stolen property is estimated to be $14,000.

Samuel Woollings, age 28 of Pacaud Township, has been charged with the following:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC, and
    •    Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2020, in Temiskaming Shores and on June 18, 2020 in Kirkland Lake.

Mederic Gelinas, age 26 of Pacaud Township, has been charged with the following:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC,
    •    Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC, and
    •    Theft of motor vehicle, contrary to section 333.1 of the CC.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2020, in Temiskaming Shores and on June 18, 2020 in Kirkland Lake.

Preston Wright, age 19 of Pacaud Township, has been charged with the following:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 16, 2020, in Temiskaming Shores.
