Driver suffers minor injuries following crash near Cochrane

COCHRANE —On July 13, 2022, at approximately 6:55 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) James Bay Detachments responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) involving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) on Highway 11, in Calder Township. The driver of the CMV was taken to hospital by Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services and treated for minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Paramjit Singh Sanghera, 45-years-old of West Creek Close, Chestermere AB, was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, contrary to section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Resist peace officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the CC

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 2, 2022, in Cochrane.
