Driver charged with impaired

A 52-year-old was issued a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days

KIRKLAND LAKE - On Oct. 27, 2021, at approximately 8:39 a.m., frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an impaired driver in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

The vehicle was located and as a result of the investigation, Lori-Ann Parks, 52 years of age, of Kirkland Lake, has been charged with;

  • Operation While Impaired, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand, contrary to section 320.15(1) of the CC

The driver was issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Dec. 2, 2021.
