Driver charged in crash that knocked out power in city's east end

A driver has been charged in a crash that resulted in most of South Porcupine and Porcupine losing power. 

On Saturday, Feb. 10, Timmins Police said that a pickup truck hit a parked vehicle and hydro pole near the intersection of Main and Essa in South Porcupine.

The crash resulted in a power outage for South Porcupine and Porcupine.

No one was injured, but both vehicles sustained significant damage, said police. 

A 32-year-old South Porcupine resident has been charged with careless driving. 

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
