KIRKLAND LAKE - On March 23, 2021, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting follow up to a traffic complaint which originated in the North Bay, Ont. area.
Police located the motor vehicle on Tower Street in The Town of Kirkland Lake. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a prohibited weapon from the driver.
As a result, Cody Wood, 26 years of age of Niagara-On-Lake, Ont., was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of weapon, contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on May 6, 2021.
