SMOOTH ROCK FALLS - On July 18, 2021, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance call on Fifth Street in Smooth Rock Falls.
Police spoke with the individuals, further investigation revealed that a person had been driving a motor vehicle and was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. As a result, the driver was arrested, the driver's licence suspended, and the vehicle towed and impounded.
Katie Lockie, 34 years old of Smooth Rock Falls, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 17, 2021 in Hearst.
