KIRKLAND LAKE OPP

On Sept. 29, 2021, frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), investigated a domestic dispute incident in the town of Kirkland Lake.
As a result of the investigation, a 33 year-old person, from Kirkland Lake, has been charged with the following:
- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC
- Mischief, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the CC
- Operation While Impaired - Alcohol, contrary to section 320.14(1(a) of the CC
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The OPP will not release names in order to protect the identity of the victim.
