Disturbance call leads police to wanted man

Police recognized one of the people as being wanted on an arrest warrant

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant that was executed stemming from an incident that occurred on Friday, June 25.

While attending the scene of a disturbance on Birch Street South, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized one of the parties involved as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Ted Nakogee, 28, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at provincial court in Timmins to answer to the original charges resulting in the arrest warrant being issued.
