Cochrane driver charged with impaired

The 31-year-old had their license suspended and vehicle impounded as a result

COCHRANE — On Nov. 12, 2021, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle driving in an unsafe manner on Fifth Street, in the Town of Cochrane.

Officers located the motor vehicle on Sixth Avenue, and spoke to the driver.

Further investigation revealed that the driver was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

As a result, the driver was arrested, driver's licence suspended, and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

 Jack Jr Lacourciere, 31-years-old of Cochrane, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (Other than Heroin), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Dec. 14, 2021 in Cochrane.
