City truck stolen, police turn to the public for help

The vehicle has been recovered and is undergoing a forensic examination

Timmins Police are asking for the public's help after a City of Timmins truck was stolen.

The theft happened late last night (Sept. 13) or early this morning at the Timmins Transit garage. A white 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with blue and gold decals running along the side of the vehicle along with the fleet number 17-12 was stolen.

While the vehicle has been recovered and is undergoing a forensic examination, "eager to accept any information from the public in regards to this matter," said Marc Depatie, Timmins Police corporate communications co-ordinator.

Police said thieves forced entry into the municipal garage. The theft was discovered early this morning by city staff.
