Charity hockey game scores $1,600 for muscular dystrophy research

The OPP and Cochrane Fire Department faced off for the fun-filled game

COCHRANE - A little fun on — and off — the ice led to a big win for charity.

On Valentine's Day, OPP and the Cochrane Fire Department faced off for a charity hockey game. Held at the Tim Hortons Events Centre, police say there was a "great display of camaraderie and sportsmanship" that ended in a 7-7 tie.

There was a big victory at the event, though. It raised $1,600 for muscular dystrophy research.

"The OPP, along with the Cochrane fire department express their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event," said police in a news release.
