Ceremonial swords and other weapons were stolen from a celebration downtown Timmins this weekend.
Cochrane District Crime Stoppers is looking for the public's help to solve the Cedar Street South theft from a vehicle.
At some point from the evening of May 26 to the morning of May 27, ceremonial weapons were stolen from a pickup truck that was parked overnight at the Gurdwara Sikh Temple. The items are part of the gear to put on a demonstration during the Second Annual Khalsa Day in Timmins. The estimated cost of the items taken is valued at $1,500.
The items stolen are:
- 4 two- to three-foot curved swords
- 2 straight double-edged swords
- 2 push daggers
- 2 hatchets
- 8 bamboo sticks with black paint blue padding
- 4 rubber shields1 chain mace
- 2 wooden handled swords with flexible blades
- 1 Grayne snowboard bag containing the weapons
- 1 black High Sierra bag containing weapons
Two metal shields and two wooden wheels were also taken and have been recovered.
