Arrest made when police alerted to 'unwanted person' loitering in downtown bank vestibule

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant stemming from an “unwanted person” incident that occurred over the noon hour of Saturday, May 9 at a bank vestibule in Timmins.

A Timmins Police Service officer was alerted to the fact that an unwanted person had been loitering in a downtown bank vestibule.

Upon arrival, the responding Timmins Police Service officer recognized a the subject of the original complaint as being wanted in relation to an arrest warrant.

The responding Timmins Police officer verified the validity of the arrest warrant and took the woman into custody.

As a result of this incident, Rebekah Bitternose, 31, of Timmins, was arrested and remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
