Arrest made in dirt bike theft

It was found while police were executing a search warrant

On Nov. 5, 2021, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into a theft investigation after a dirt bike was stolen from a residence on Hudson Bay Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

On Nov. 9, 2021, The OPP executed a search warrant at a residence on Hudson Bay Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake and recovered the stolen dirt bike.

As a result of the investigation, Curtis Watson, 30 years of age, of Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Dec. 23, 2021, in Kirkland Lake.
