Arrest made after police seize weapons in Iroquois Falls

IROQUOIS FALLS - On Dec. 1, 2020 members of the South Porcupine Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the North East Region Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) and the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) conducted a search warrant at a residence on Cambridge Avenue in Iroquois Falls.

As a result of the investigation the OPP seized prohibited weapons, including a conductive energy weapon and pepper spray. Allen Christenson, age 43 of Iroquois Falls, was arrested and charged with the following:
    •    Importing a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon, prohibited device or ammunition knowing it is unauthorized contrary to section 103(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
    •    Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC - three counts and,
    •    Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 of the CC - two counts

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 28, 2021 in Timmins.
