The Timmins Police Service has investigated a noon-hour disturbance that occurred on Sept. 28 at an Algonquin Boulevard East restaurant.

Based on investigation, it was determined that a male person was loitering in front of the restaurant while repeatedly accosting patrons.

At one point, the man was asked to leave by the restaurant owner.

A verbal dispute ensued and escalated to the point where the suspect held out a household item as though it were a weapon and made assaultive gestures toward the restaurant owner.

  • Fail to Attend Court contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
