Argument leads to charges for 14-year-old

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident that occurred at a Wende Avenue residence during the evening hours of Saturday, July 10.

A complaint was received by the Timmins Police where a young male subject entered into a verbal argument with a co-habitant of the residence and then began to damage household property found within the house.

The subject was identified and located at the scene by responding Timmins Police officers. The total damage to the household is estimated to be $300.

As a result of the incidents, a 14-year-old male person who cannot be identified in keeping with statutory regulation, has been charged with:
    •    Mischief under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
    •    Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from police custody at a bail hearing on the strength of an undertaking compelling the young person to attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on Aug. 9 to answer to the charges laid against him.
