1 extricated from vehicle in Highway 11 crash, one lane of road reopened (updated)

The incident involves two tractor-trailers, no word on when the road will be reopened

One lane of Highway 11 between Marten River and North Bay has reopened.

UPDATE,11:20 a.m.

North Bay OPP say the driver of one of two transports involved in a crash earlier today received serious injuries. 

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. today (Sept. 25) on Highway 11 North between Bomarc Road and Sand Dam Road. The highway remains closed between Marsh Drive and Highway 64 in Marten River.

The investigation is ongoing and includes the OPP traffic incident management and enforcement unit (TIME).

ORIGINAL STORY:

Highway 11 north of North Bay is closed between Collins Road in North Bay and Highway 64 in Marten River. 

Reports say a collision involving two tractor-trailers has blocked the highway since approximately 4 a.m. North Bay Fire and Emergency Services confirms at least one person was extricated from a vehicle and transported to the hospital.

There are detours available. Travel west on Highway 17 to Sturgeon Falls, and take Highway 64 to the north of Marten River where it meets Highway 11 north.

Or, take Highway 63 to Quebec, then cross to New Liskeard.
