81-year-old arrested after police seize $29K worth of cocaine, cannabis

LARDER LAKE - On Nov. 27, 2020, the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a residence on Godfrey Street in the Town of Larder Lake.

Police seized drugs suspected to be cocaine and cannabis. Police also seized over $11,000 in Canadian currency. Total estimated street value of the seizure is over $29,000.

As a result, Real Groulx, age 81 of Larder Lake, has been charged with the following:
    •    Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
    •    Possession for the purpose of distributing, contrary section 9(2) of the Cannabis Act (CA), and
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice by video on Nov. 30, 2020.
