$34K in drugs, handgun seized in Kirkland Lake

Three people are facing trafficking charges

KIRKLAND LAKE - Three people are facing charges after about $34,000 in drugs, a handgun, and more were seized by police. 

Just after 2 a.m. today (Feb. 15), OPP executed a search warrant at a Tweedsmuir Road residence in Kirkland Lake. 

Over 270 grams of suspected cocaine, more than 22 grams of suspected fentanyl, about 89 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a 9 mm handgun and magazine with ammunition, and $4,160 in cash were seized by police. The estimated street value of the drugs is $34,000. 

The search included the OPP community street crime unit, OPP tactics and rescue unit (TRU), and emergency response team (ERT).

Andrew Neville, 33, of Kirkland Lake is charged with: 

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of unauthorized firearm
  • Possession of firearm/ammo contrary to prohibition order
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Lavardo Reckley, 28, of Kirkland Lake is charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of unauthorized firearm
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

Kennedy White, 25, of Kirkland Lake is charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of unauthorized firearm
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (under)

The accused are in police custody waiting for a bail hearing. 

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
